After 3-week shutdown, Yosemite Valley in NP set to re-open as fire danger abates

Yosemite Valley will reopen to the public Tuesday, almost three weeks after a wildfire forced its shutdown, stripping countless tourists of their vacations and local merchants of their profits.

National Park Service officials announced the lifting of the closure Friday as smoke from the 95,000-acre Ferguson Fire began to recede and firefighters increased containment of the pesky blaze to 80 percent.
