Man fined for killing 2 endangered humpback chub in Grand Canyon NP
A California man who caught at least two endangered humpback chub inside Grand Canyon National Park has been fined $500, according to National Park Service authorities.
Back in October 2014, Joao Paulo Ribeiro Ferreira, 33, of El Sobrante, California, was seen fishing with a group in Havasu Creek below Beaver Falls. The pool they were in is on the boundary of the national park and the Havasupai Indian Reservation. Mr. Ferreira caught and gutted two humpback chub, a species of fish.
