Philanthropist, trust team up to buy out O&G leases in 24,000-acre USBLM PA near Grand Teton NP

The Trust for Public Land and two energy companies announced that they have struck a deal to purchase and work to retire more than 24,000 acres of federal oil and natural gas leases in a rugged area in western Wyoming that includes important wildlife habitat.

The money to purchase the land came from a donation from Hansjörg Wyss, a billionaire philanthropist and Wyoming resident, through his Wyss Foundation.
